 GOOD GOVERNANCE AT LOCAL SELF-GOVERNMENT:

OPPORTUNITIES AND CHALLENGES IN DEVELOPING COLLABORATIVE GOVERNANCE

Changing society and requirements for public administration, emerging social needs of and limited capacities of public institutions to meet them all, the empowerment of all sectors to work together for the social welfare, implies the researchers and experts from different fields to discuss about opportunities and challenges in developing Collaborative governance. The aim of the conference is to bring together scientists and practitioners for the dialog about developing of Collaborative Governance, its resolution at local level, to share insights and practice.

 

The conference will focus on a broad range of topics:

  • Capacity building and competencies for Collaborative Governance in local self-government
  • Strengthening democracy in local self-government in developing Collaborative Governance
  • Cross-Sectoral Partnerships as a basis for Collaborative Governance
  • From E. Government to Collaborative E. Governance in local self-government
  • Enhancing the efficiency of public services in developing Collaborative Governance
  • Ethics, Law and Collaborative Governance
  • Socio-economical local challenges in developing Collaborative Governance

Conference participants are invited to suggest presentations for the plenary session.

The languages of the conference are English, Lithuanian and Russian.

 

Important dates:

  • June 15th, 2016: Application with the presentation abstract. The presentation abstract has to be sent by filling the application form online. The abstract should not exceed 2000 characters including spaces. Authors will be informed about the selection results via e-mails until July 1, 2016.
  • September 4th, 2016: Registration to the conference online. Registration to the conference is available online.
  • October 1st, 2016: Conference participation fee* – 40 EUR. Fee covers conference handouts, conference lunch, coffee breaks and conference banquet, held on October 14th evening, for conference participants. The conference fee is not refundable or transferable.
  • November 1st, 2016: Publication. Submitted papers can be published in two scientific journals. The periodical scientific journal Social Research (the articles must be written in English) is quoted in international databases (CEEOL, EBSCO, Index Copernicus). Papers should be submitted to editors via e-mail [email protected]. The periodical scientific journal Economics and Management: Current Issues and Perspectives (articles in Lithuanian, English and Russian) is quoted in international Index Copernicus database. Papers should be submitted to editors via e-mail [email protected]. Only papers, selected by the Editorial Boards as fully corresponding to the journals’ requirements for scientific publication, will be published in journals. Publication fee 50 EUR (payment must be done only after two positive reviews and acceptance of paper publication). Authors will be informed personally.
